David BeckenbaughYESNoAs a ‘Class of ’80’, I guess I will try to sneak in here. I met a few of my classmates some years back at Ken Fitzgerald’s remembrance. I guess they all recognized me, I did not recognize them. Funny. Still stuck in my time warp sense where all the people I knew from high school still look as they did back then. So I moved out of the ‘bachelor till the rapture’ club nearly ten years ago, and moved my wife here to the USA and into a small house in Everett. Odd, that is the furthest I have lived form Issaquah with the exception of time in the military. And so many of my friends have gone on ahead of us, each strikes me in so many ways, so much loss. Life just seems more and more empty all the time. Wasn’t I supposed to be one of the first to go? And, now, I am at their services.

It just was not supposed to be this way. Weren’t we all supposed to live forever? Wasn’t that what we thought in high school?
